More About Tatum!

I Am You

A solo exhibition held at the South Orange Performing Arts Center at the Milly and Herb Iris Gallery carefully curated by Jeremy Moss. The collection includes, mixed media, portraits and abstract work from 2024 and 2025.

Let The kids play!

This exhibition was originally inspired by the work of American photographer Gordon Parks. The photograph “I Am You“ specifically lead me down a rabbit hole of red lining and the school to prison pipeline. I wanted to create pieces that forced the audience to sit with the unfortunate realities that children are forced into against their will. This exhibition was also a silent auction as a way to raise money for my grandparents scholarship fund. The Sabarah and Crawford Sabin Scholarship fund helps students at Columbia High School.

We ate the world

We Ate the World is a dynamic exhibition that I was privileged to put together with my close friend and fellow artist, Eden Radcliff. The exhibition was held at Lady Clipper Barbershop in Washington D.C. Lady Clipper Barbershop is owned and operated by Black women and this exhibition would not have been possible without the help and generosity of owner Lesley Bryant. The small business is focused on creating a safe and inclusive space for all people through hair care.

Lumin’s community cafe

A big part of my mission as an artist is creating a community through my work. With the help of the Lumin’s team, we were able to bring people together through art and pastries. Check out my interview led by Lumin’s Visionary, Salka’Tuwa and her daughter Zoila!

Welcoming the Rain

Welcoming the Rain was my first solo exhibition, which took place at Axum Art Cafe, in Phillipsburg, Sint Maarten, June 2024. Sint Maarten holds a special place in my heart as my family has lived there for several decades. I have grown to call it another home and I am grateful for the community of artists who welcomed me during my time there. The idea of Welcoming the Rain came from being able to see challenges and adversity as opportunities for growth rather than set backs.
